Made in the Burren by Sinead O’ Connor

All jewellery is handcrafted in my studio overlooking the Burren where the geometry and stark beauty of this unique region informs every curve and contour.

Working in precious metals, Rockforest Design blends traditional silversmithing techniques with a modern design aesthetic. The result is work that feels both grounded and sculptural, pieces that are tactile, balanced, and made to be worn or displayed for a lifetime.

From statement jewellery to bespoke commissions, every piece reflects a deep connection to place, material and craftsmanship. Rockforest Design celebrates simplicity with intention and quality, allowing form, shadow, and texture to speak for themselves.

My Journey to Becoming a Silversmith

My journey in jewellery began in the late 1980s, with my very first stall at the Trip to Tipp festival.

Since then, my passion for craftsmanship has taken me from Grennan Mill in Kilkenny to Galway, where I studied sculpture and honed my skills. In 1992, I co-founded SilverLines Jewellery with Daniela Marschel, a talented German silversmith. Together, we grew our business from the Galway market to shops and galleries across Ireland, the UK, Germany, and the US.

I took time out from Jewellery and went to work for a multinational—while still accepting select commissions. A few years ago, I felt the irresistible pull of silver and jewellery once again. I am delighted to be back, creating pieces that reflect my love for design and craftsmanship.

Where do we go From Here?

At Rockforest Design, I predominantly work in sterling silver, but I also offer bespoke commissions in gold for select lines.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss a custom order, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am always happy to help you find or create the perfect piece.

Thank you for visiting my store. I hope you enjoy exploring my collection as much as I enjoy making each piece for you.
